London, 21 December 2015: Proxama PLC (AIM: PROX), the leading mobile proximity marketing experts, are excited to announce they have won three major industry awards for their cutting-edge mobile proximity services and BLE beacon network.
The multiple award win cements Proxama’s position within the smart city and IoT space. Responding to a need to re-imagine cities, Proxama deployed mobile proximity services across a plethora of sectors to combat issues such as falling footfall, failing loyalty and declining profits. Culminating in the Proxama Network, which includes Bluetooth low energy (BLE) beacons, Near Field Communication (NFC) tags and QR codes, the network facilitates an in-the-moment, highly contextualised communication channel between brands and millions of engaged consumers.
Spanning across the Digital Out of Home (DOOH), digital marketing and IT sectors, the awards were:
- The UK Digital Experience Awards, ‘Best Innovation’: Shortlisted amongst some very well-known brands such as Thomas Cook, Liverpool Victoria (LV) and Standard Life, Proxama were recognised for their compelling, real life deployment of a fully functional mobile solution across the city retail, QSR, transport and tourist sectors.
- DailyDOOH Gala Awards, ‘Most Innovative Use of Technology’: Recognised, in conjunction with Exterion Media, for truly driving innovation into the Digital Out of Home sector with their ‘beacons on buses’ initiative. The initial rollout saw a 30% click-through rate from receipt of notification, which is much higher than other forms of mobile marketing.
- EDP Business Awards, ‘Outstanding IT Initiative’: Recognised for the continued development of Norwich as a smart city through their mobile proximity services. Utilising Bluetooth beacon technology, the city’s businesses are able to engage with consumers via mobile as they shop or travel into the city. Businesses on the network include McDonalds, Waterstones, Game and Cinema City.
Jon Worley, CEO of Proxama’s proximity marketing division comments: “Proxama are delighted to be recognised by such highly acclaimed awards and I would like to personally thank everyone involved. Our mobile proximity network has grown exponentially over the last year to become the UK’s largest independent beacon network and we are already demonstrating it as a key driver in creating a truly smart city. It’s an exciting time to be at the cutting edge of an industry which will have such a positive impact on how we interact with our physical surroundings, providing genuinely new and attractive shopping, service and leisure experiences.”
